The wait is finally over.
Whether your January attempt was a “learning experience” or you completely skipped it, the second chance you were waiting for is officially live. As of February 1, 2026, the NTA has opened the doors for JEE Main Session 2.
This is it. The final lap. No more warm-ups. We know reading official notices is boring, so we have decoded the important stuff for you. Here is exactly what you need to do right now.
Mark These Dates (Do Not Procrastinate!)
The window is short. According to the official public notice released today, here is your timeline:
| Event | Official Date & Time |
| Registration Starts | 01 February 2026 |
| Registration Ends | 25 February 2026 (up to 09:00 PM) |
| Last Date for Fee Payment | 25 February 2026 (up to 11:50 PM) |
| Exam Dates | 02 April to 09 April 2026 |
Pro Tip: My advice? Don’t be that student who tries to pay at 11:45 PM on the last day. The servers will crash. Finish it this week.
“I Already Gave Session 1. Do I Register Again?”
This is the most common confusion. The answer is NO, you do not need to register from scratch. The process is different for two types of students:
CASE A: You Registered for Session 1 (January)
You are in the “Easy Mode.” You don’t need to re-upload your photo or sign up again.
- Login: Use your existing Application Number and Password from Session 1.
- Update: You only need to choose:
- Paper (B.E./B.Tech)
- Medium of Examination
- Examination City (You can change this from your Jan preference!)
- Pay: Just pay the Session 2 fee, and you are done.
CASE B: You Are a “Fresh” Candidate (New Applicant)
If you missed Session 1 completely, you are welcome to apply now. You will have to complete the entire registration process (Registration > Application Form > Image Upload > Payment).
The “One Mistake” That Can Get You Banned
We cannot stress this enough because NTA put it in bold letters:
Never, ever fill out more than one Application Form.
If you think, “Oh, I made a mistake in my old form, let me just create a new ID,” STOP. That counts as UFM (Unfair Means). Even if you score 300/300, they can cancel your result later if they find duplicate data. If you have an error, wait for the correction window, but do not register twice.

Quick Checklist Before You Login
- The “Live” Photo: Remember, NTA now requires a live photo capture in some stages. Ensure you have a plain white background and adequate lighting.
- Valid ID: Keep your Aadhaar/DigiLocker ready for authentication to ensure smooth entry at the exam center.
- Correct Mobile Number: Ensure the email and number provided are your own (or your parents’). All OTPs and result notifications will come here.
Final Words: The April Strategy
Session 2 is often tougher because the competition increases—everyone has completed their syllabus by now.
