The Top 2.5 lac students selected through both sessions will qualify to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 slated for May 17. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced yesterday evening the JEE (Main) 2026 Session 1 results will now be published on February 16. As per the original information bulletin, the results were earlier scheduled for February 12.

The JEE Main 2026 scores will serve as the gateway for securing admission to various undergraduate courses, such as BE/BTech, BArch, and BPlanning, at participating government-funded and privately-run institutions throughout the country.
The first session of JEE Main 2026 – was held through computer-based test (CBT) format, spanning nine days, from January 21 through January 29.
Aspirants appeared for the examination in two distinct time slots daily: the morning session ran from 9 AM to 12 Noon, while the afternoon session was scheduled from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Students targeting BE and BTech programs took their papers between January 21 and January 28. Following the completion of the exam, both test-takers and subject matter experts weighed in on the difficulty level, characterizing most papers as having a moderate difficulty quotient. However, several candidates noted noticeable fluctuations in complexity depending on their specific shift and the subjects they encountered.
Looking back at the previous cycle, the NTA had released the JEE Main January 2025 session results on February 11. That examination window ran from January 22 to January 30, 2025.
Can You Request Re-evaluation or Re-checking of JEE Main 2026 Results?
The answer is : No. The NTA has a firm policy against re-evaluation or re-checking of JEE Main answer sheets. Once your results are declared, they are considered final. The agency will not entertain any requests, appeals, or correspondence seeking re-assessment of scores.
What are the Qualifying marks in JEE Main 2026 (Session 1)
The expected JEE Main 2026 session 1 cut-off for the general category is tentatively between 93.5 and 95. For the EWS, it is expected to span between 80 & 82. For other backward classes – between 79 & 81. For SC between 61 & 63, For ST between 47.5 & 50 and for Persons with disability between 0.001 & 0.02.
Whose JEE Main 2026 Results Will Be Withheld or Cancelled?
The NTA takes examination integrity seriously, and certain violations will result in your results being cancelled or withheld entirely:
- Unfair Means Practices (UMP): If you’re caught using any form of cheating, malpractice, or unfair methods during the exam, your results will be nullified and not published.
- Wrong Examination Center: Appearing for the test at any center other than the one assigned to you in your admit card will lead to automatic cancellation of your result.
- Impersonation: If someone else takes the exam on your behalf, or if you appear for someone else, your candidature will be cancelled immediately.
- Multiple Appearances: Attempting to take the same JEE Main session more than once is strictly prohibited. If detected, your entire candidature will be cancelled, and you may face debarment as per UMP guidelines.
The NTA maintains a zero-tolerance approach toward these violations, and no appeals or justifications will be considered once such cases are established.
