JEE Advanced 2026 Results Out: Check Category-Wise Qualifying Marks

Months of preparation, countless mock tests, and more than a few sleepless nights — and the moment is finally here. IIT Roorkee has officially announced the outcome of this year’s exam, and with JEE Advanced 2026 Results Out on jeeadv.ac.in. Out of 1,87,389 who registered, only 1,79,694 actually showed up for both papers. And that “both papers” part matters — skip either one and you’re automatically out of the running, no exceptions. From those who did appear, just over 56,000 made the cut. Well, 56,880 to be exact. Those are the students heading into JoSAA 2026 counselling now.

Gender-wise — 46,773 male, 10,107 female, 1 third gender. And 887 PwD candidates also cleared it. The 10,000+ female qualifier mark is something that’s been building year on year, and this year it crossed it. Small step, but a real one.

JEE Advanced Result 2026: What Were the Cutoffs?

Right, so the JEE Advanced Result 2026 cutoffs aren’t the same for everyone — your category determines which rank list you’re on and what score you needed to make it. General category (CRL) students needed 8 marks per subject and 92 in aggregate. OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS candidates had it set at 7 per subject and 82 overall. SC, ST, all PwD categories, and the CRL-PwD list — 4 per subject, 46 overall. The Preparatory Course list sat at the lowest: 2 per subject and 23 aggregate.

And just so it’s clear — aggregate means your Maths + Physics + Chemistry total, nothing else. You have to cross both thresholds. The per-subject minimum AND the overall aggregate. One without the other doesn’t get you on the list.

The JEE Advanced Rank List 2026 top three? All from the IIT Delhi zone. Clean sweep. State-wise, the top 1,000 rankers are heavily concentrated in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh — which, if you’ve ever been anywhere near the JEE coaching world, is not even slightly surprising. Kota feeders, Hyderabad institutes, Delhi coaching hubs — the usual pattern, essentially.

·       Go to jeeadv.ac.in, find the result link on the home page, and it’ll take you to the candidate login.

·       Put in your roll number, date of birth, and mobile number.

·       Scorecard comes up.

·       Download it, print it. Done.

·       Keep a physical copy somewhere too — digital files have a way of disappearing right when you actually need them.

One Thing People Miss in the Result-Day Chaos

Qualifying doesn’t equal admission. That part somehow gets lost every single year. Getting onto the JEE Advanced Rank List is the entry ticket to JoSAA counselling — but your actual seat depends on rank, on the branches you pick, and on how the allocation rounds play out. Fill your preferences with some thought. Talk to people who went through it last year. Don’t rush the form just because everyone around you is.

How 2026 Stacks Up Against Previous Years

Last year it was IIT Kanpur running the exam — results came out June 2. The year before that, in 2024, 48,248 students qualified from 1,80,200 who appeared, with scorecards published on June 9. This year’s 56,880 is up from both those numbers. Whether that’s down to a wider seat pool or tweaked thresholds, JoSAA counselling this season is going to be active.

To the 56,880 who cleared it — genuinely, well done. Two papers, years of prep, and you made it through. To everyone else — JEE Advanced is brutal, and not making it this time doesn’t define what comes next. There are more roads into good engineering programmes than this one exam.
