Just curiosity at first
I didn’t get into AI in some dramatic way. No big moment, no clear decision.
It started casually. Just trying things out because everyone around me was talking about it. Asking random questions, checking answers, sometimes just playing around to see what it could do.

But slowly, it stopped being random.
I’d be studying and suddenly switch tabs to test something.
I’d get stuck and instead of struggling longer, I’d just ask.
Even when I wasn’t supposed to be studying, I’d still end up reading about some new model or tool.
It wasn’t planned. It just became part of how I think.
And then one term kept coming back again and again.

The First Time It Actually Made Me Pause
It didn’t feel like normal tech
At first I ignored it. It sounded too futuristic.
But one night I ended up reading about it properly. Not scrolling, not skipping, actually reading.
And something about it didn’t sit like normal tech topics do.
It felt unfinished. Like trying to understand something that isn’t fully built yet.

That’s when I stopped and asked myself properly:

What I Thought AI Was

It’s very capable, but it still depends on you starting the interaction.

Agentic AI already feels advanced. It can plan steps, complete tasks, and act with some independence.
The difference
But even then, it’s still operating inside a defined system.
AGI would go beyond that.
It wouldn’t just follow steps.
It would decide them.
A Thought That Changed How I See Intelligence
It stopped being about machines
At some point, this stopped being about AI for me.
It became about understanding intelligence itself.
What does it actually mean to understand something?
What does it mean to learn, not just remember?
When you think about AGI, these questions start coming naturally.
And it gets a bit uncomfortable
Because you realise we don’t fully understand our own intelligence either.
We just experience it.
And now we’re trying to recreate it.
Where This Actually Helped Me — JEE Prep
My shift in studying
This is where things became real for me.
During JEE prep, I started using AI differently.
Not just for answers.
For understanding.
I would ask the same concept in different ways.
I would test explanations.
Sometimes I would even argue with the answer just to see what happens.
What changed
And slowly, something changed.
I wasn’t just solving questions anymore.
I was noticing patterns.
Understanding how things connect.
If AGI existed
Now imagine this with AGI.
A system that knows where you hesitate.
That adjusts explanations instantly.
That doesn’t just answer, but helps you think better.
That’s not just useful.
That changes how learning feels.
The Side No One Talks About
It’s not just exciting
The more I read about AGI, the more I realised it’s not just exciting.
It’s also something people are careful about.
Because something that can think, learn, and adapt like us… raises questions.
Who controls it?
How is it used?
What happens if it goes wrong?
That balance matters
So it’s not just about building AGI.
It’s about building it responsibly.
